November 30, 2007 - If you got home late last night and were itching to play a round of Pain as a sexy lady or a surly-looking Santa, you went to bed unsatisfied. The PlayStation Network game that has players launching a character from a giant slingshot and racking up high scores for the damage that ensues debuted yesterday, but its content is still be worked on. However, contrary to earlier reports, the game was never removed from the PlayStation Store.

Scott Groyl, a public relations specialist with Sony Computer Entertainment, said developers have been addressing several Pain-related issues since the game went live -- namely, two missing characters as well as the lack of online leaderboards and a broken video on the community page.

"It is something that should be working today," Groyl said.

Gamers who downloaded Pain yesterday were without online leaderboards, but the option has since been rectified, Groyl said. As of now, Santa and the scantily-clad woman known as Cookie show up as character options when starting a single-player game, but when you click on them, a message appears stating you need to re-download and install Pain from the PS3's "Transaction Management" option.
